Barbara is a Certified Bioenergetic Therapist with the San Diego Bioenergetic Institute of San Diego. Dr, Thomson has been involved with the San Diego Institute for 19 years . She is a full trainer of Bioenergetics and has lectured, given workshops and seminars and has served as head of training and has been part of the governing board for many years.

Dr. Thomson has been licensed as an MFT since 1991 and has experience in working with depression, anxiety, abuse, couple's problems and family work. She specializes in early attachment disorders and how they effect present day relationship .

Barbara is a sculptress and has learned through her experience of art , that, art is a powerful healer . She has just completed her Art Therapy Certification and is exploring how the techniques of art and Bioenergetics meld together to heal. Both techniques make conscious the unconscious and free up repressed material so that the individual can claim back parts of the self . This frees the energy for more aliveness and pleasure .
