Bioenergetics is a relational type of psychotherapy based on the premise that a person's history is manifested in the energetic processes of the mind and body. Mental and emotional abuse as a child can be a direct cause of general anxiety, depression or other hidden emotions that manifest in physical and mental abstractions such as stress in various forms, post traumatic stress disorder, post partum depression, chronic pain and phobias.
What is Bioenergetic Analysis?
Bioenergetic analysis integrates the body with the mind and the emotions through a relational, somatic psychotherapy.
Relational
Most of the wounds and scars are a result of unmet needs or even unmet childhood needs. You know how some people don’t know or like to see that they got wounded in their childhood.. Since most of our emotional injuries occurred in the context of a relationship, healing also occurs most effectively and fully in the atmosphere of a safe and confidential therapeutic relationship. Bioenergetic therapy is based on a relationship that develops between client and therapist.
Somatic
Our body holds tensions, blocks and memories that work unconsciously to sabotage our efforts at closeness, comfort and getting our needs met. Bioenergetic therapy works to identify and release these emotional and muscular blocks through breathing, movement and expressive release. This in turn enables us to have more energy to discover, experience and express a wider range of feelings and to increase our potential for pleasure.
Psychotherapy
Working together, therapist and client explore the emotional and relational impact of family history and beliefs on our current ways of relating to people in our lives."
